Do I Really Need a Big Law Firm for My Case? The Advantages of a Small Firm

May 10, 2023
HB Law Partners

Selecting a law firm often adds to the stress of your legal matter. A quick Google search for attorneys in your area will turn up numerous options, big and small. So, how do you know who to hire?

Large law firms bring appeal with claims of “unmatched” experience, expertise, and results. So, what do small firms bring to the table for you and your case?

Personalized Services

When you hire a small law firm, you hire the people. At HB Law Partners, our core values guide us to be responsive and flexible with our clients, implementing a collaborative approach to our representation.

Small firms provide direct access to your attorney(s) instead of having to go through multiple layers of a large firm to get the answers you need. On top of that, you are often paying for the name of the firm but end up having your case handed down to younger, more inexperienced attorneys (more on that in a moment).

Our team prides itself on direct, personal involvement in our clients’ cases. While we obviously have lives outside of our work, we will be as responsive as we can to get you the answers and results you deserve.

Experience

Great attorneys exist in all law firm models – from solo practices to massive international firms. We mentioned above that big firms claim to bring “unmatched” experience, but how accurate is that? Our team of attorneys at HB Law Partners brings over four decades of experience to the table – including nearly two decades at Oklahoma’s largest law firm.

This is a reality for many small firms. They are often made up of experienced attorneys who went from working at a large law firm to starting their own practice. This means you get “big” thinking even when you opt for a “small” firm.

We mentioned above that big firms often pass cases down to more inexperienced attorneys to handle with little or no involvement from partners.  That’s just not how we operate at HB Law Partners. We don’t “pass cases down.”  Clients get the benefit of seasoned lawyers and the fresh approach of rising stars on each matter. We believe this collaborative approach produced the best, most efficient results.

Affordability

We don’t need to say much about this, but you often don’t have to dig as deep into your pockets when hiring a small law firm. Big firms come with numerous employees and layers your money will go to, even some that you will never see or directly benefit from. At a small firm, you are paying for what you see and the representation you get.

Small Firm, Big Thinking

HB Law Partners proudly accepts the title of a “small law firm.” But our team brings big experience and big thinking to each and every case we take on. Make us your first call in your search for a law firm in Oklahoma.
